Seinfeldian: Some Consumers Really Do Drive Their Cans And Bottles To Michigan

I've got a better idea: all states should just give a 10 cent refund. Honestly, I don't know why this hasn't happened yet. I mean, I know why -- the deal is, the drink costs you 0.10 more when you buy it so that you've got that much incentive to return it to a recycling center and since beverage distributors and retailers aren't realistically going to make, or at least, keep all of their $0.99 price point drinks at $1.09, somebody along the line who isn't you just absorbs the cost, and so beverage lobbyists keep it out of most state congresses. What I really meant to say was that I don't know why this isn't a federally mandated law by now. It's such an easy solution to a complex and nationwide problem. Of course, I am never surprised when greed overpowers morality in any degree -- so, in the mean time, thanks to Michigan for still doing the right thing.
